Property and Gender: enabling women’s human rights

The programme will start with an interdisciplinary discussion of the position of women in connection to their access to property by the hand of Dr. Selin Dilli (historian, UU), Dr. Ans Merens (economist, SCP) and Prof. Wendy Schrama (family law, UU). This will be followed by a panel discussing CEDAW’s potential to address the issue, featuring Prof. José Alvarez (NYU), and Em. Prof. Cees Flinterman (UU, former CEDAW and HRC chair). Chairing the event: Dr. Lorena Sosa (UU).
